Draft for review — not yet approved by Scented Shea

Terms and conditions

Last updated 25 September 2026

These are the terms on which we sell our products to you. Please read them before you order. Nothing here affects your legal rights as a consumer.

1.Who we are

Scented Shea sells naturally scented shea body butter direct to customers in the United Kingdom through scentedshea.com. You can contact us at contactus@scentedshea.com. Our registered business name and postal address are to be confirmed before these terms are published.

2.These terms

By placing an order you agree to these terms. We may update them from time to time; the version that applies to your order is the one on this page when you place it. We recommend saving or printing a copy.

3.Our products

Our body butters are cosmetic products made from 100% pure unrefined shea butter from Ghana blended with natural essential oils. They are for external use on skin and hair only. Scented Shea Body Butter has completed its UK Cosmetic Product Safety Assessment (CPSR).

Shea butter is a natural material: colour, texture and scent strength vary a little between batches, and the butter softens in warm conditions. This is normal and is not a fault.

Full ingredient lists are shown on each product page and on the jar. If you have a known allergy or sensitivity, check them before you buy and patch-test before first use. Our products are not medicines and we make no medical claims.

Photography and screen colours are a guide; the product you receive may differ slightly in appearance.

4.Prices

All prices are in pounds sterling and include VAT where it applies. The price you pay is the price shown at checkout when you place your order, plus delivery.

We take care to price correctly, but if a product is listed at an obviously wrong price we will contact you before dispatch and you may confirm the order at the correct price or cancel it for a full refund. We may change prices at any time; changes do not affect orders already placed.

5.Promotion codes

From time to time we may issue promotion codes to individual customers. Only one may be used per order, codes cannot be combined with other offers unless we say so, have no cash value, apply to product prices rather than delivery, and may be withdrawn at any time.

6.Your order

Placing an order is an offer to buy. The contract between us is formed when we send you an email confirming that your order has been accepted and is being prepared for dispatch — not when you pay.

We may decline an order if the product is out of stock, if we cannot deliver to your address, if payment is not authorised, or if there has been a pricing or description error. If we decline, we refund you in full.

7.Payment

We take payment through Stripe. Card details are entered on Stripe’s secure pages and we never see or store them. Payment is taken when you complete checkout.

8.Delivery

We currently deliver to addresses in the United Kingdom only. Standard delivery is £2.15, and free on orders over £29.99.

We aim to dispatch within one working day and for orders to arrive within 2–3 working days of dispatch. These are estimates, not guarantees: delivery is handled by a third-party carrier and can be affected by things outside our control. If delivery is going to be significantly delayed we will tell you, and you may cancel and receive a full refund.

The goods become your responsibility once they are delivered to the address you gave us. Please make sure that address is correct — we cannot recover a parcel sent to an address entered incorrectly.

9.Cancelling and returning an order

Under the Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013 you have 14 days from the day you receive your order to change your mind, and a further 14 days to send the goods back. You do not need to give a reason.

The hygiene exception. Cosmetics are sealed for health and hygiene reasons. If a jar’s seal has been broken or the product has been opened or used, it cannot be returned once unsealed, and the right to cancel no longer applies to that item. Unopened, unused jars in their original packaging can be returned as normal.

You pay the cost of returning the goods unless they are faulty or not as described. We refund the price you paid, plus standard outbound delivery, within 14 days of receiving the goods back, to the payment method you used.

To start a return, email contactus@scentedshea.com with your order number. Full details are on our shipping and returns page.

10.Faulty or misdescribed goods

Under the Consumer Rights Act 2015 the goods we supply must be of satisfactory quality, fit for purpose and as described. If they are not, you are entitled to a repair, replacement or refund depending on the circumstances and how long you have had them. This applies whether or not the jar has been opened.

Tell us as soon as you can at contactus@scentedshea.com, with a photograph if the problem is visible, and we will put it right. Nothing in these terms limits your rights under that Act.

11.Our liability to you

We are responsible for loss or damage you suffer that is a foreseeable result of our breaking these terms or failing to use reasonable care and skill. We are not responsible for loss or damage that is not foreseeable, or for business losses — we supply our products for domestic and private use.

We do not exclude or limit our liability in any way where it would be unlawful to do so, including liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for your statutory rights as a consumer.

We are not liable for delays or failures caused by events outside our reasonable control, but we will contact you as soon as possible and you may cancel affected orders for a full refund.

12.Complaints

If something has gone wrong, email contactus@scentedshea.com. We aim to acknowledge complaints within two working days and resolve them within 14 days.

13.Governing law

These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and disputes may be brought in the courts of England and Wales. If you live in Scotland or Northern Ireland you may also bring proceedings in your own courts.
